TAG was first established in 1985 as Alabi Global Investment Company (AGIC). In a short span, AGIC engaged in fossil fuel trading and established several gas / filling stations, some of which are still operating today. Eventually, the company opened a subsidiary company in the renewable energy spectrum; AGIC Energy North America LLC, this company engaged in the co-development of the largest solar park in the Caribbean, most commonly known as Monte Cristi Solar in the Dominican Republic with a capacity of 58MW of clean solar energy.
